Coriolis mass flow meters FAQ
I have more applications for the new
style coriolis mass flow meters, another email will follow however for now I have some
technical questions which are not explained in the manual:
Questions, please explain in detail:
1/ What does “Percent of A” mean?
2/ What is “Medium 1 Density” and
“Medium 2 Density” used for?
3/ What is “Density coefficient” used
for?
4/ What is “pressure correction” and
Temperature correction” used for?
-I assume this is a user adjustable
calibration trim?
5/ Confirm what happens if “Reset”
and “Factory Reset” are used?
-Are these the same?
-Are calibration constants lost, or
just the settable units and span setting etc. lost?
Secondly, some points for your
technical dept. to fix:
A/ “Density” is spelled incorrectly
as “Desnity” in the “Medium 1 & Medium 2 Density“ menu
B/ When selecting “Display Setting”
note that “percent of A” when selected (highlighted) does not show on display,
but does show on display when not highlighted (i.e selection for this setting
is not like other display selections but is inverted)
I look forward to your reply, please
explain the above with as much detail as possible,
Thanks
BTW, for future coriolis mass flow meters with cheap price please ensure packaging is better, the two recently delivered had some small
damage to the transmitter and flanges as the “foam” was not thick enough and
the meters moved inside the cardboard box and went through the side in places.
ANSWER
1/
What does “Percent of A” mean?
If measure 2 medium (A & B) not incompatible,
“Percent of A “ is the A medium concentration.
2/ What is “Medium 1 Density” and “Medium 2 Density” used
for?
2 incompatible mediums, and input the 2 medium density.
3/ What is “Density coefficient” used for?
It is used to calibrate the density if the mass flow
meter display the density is not very accurate.
4/ What is “pressure correction” and Temperature
correction” used for?
-I assume this is a user adjustable calibration trims?
Pressure correction is reserved for future function
update.
Temperature correction is for calibration trims.
5/ Confirm what happens if “Reset” and “Factory Reset”
are used?
-Are these the same?
Not the same.
-Are calibration constants lost, or just the settable
units and span setting etc. lost?
Factory reset can cause calibration constants lost.
And reset is for the settable units and span setting etc.
lost?
Continue to ask
All clear, as expected for "percent of A" we sometimes refer to it as "Percent Solids" which is a good feature!

Maybe suggest to your technical team to maybe add it to
be able to allocate to the analogue output in the future?
Fyi for one of the coriolis meters made in China recently supplied density
output will be used and Percent solids will actually be calculated in the
control system......
Thanks also for the quotes :)

yes, it can set in the flow meters, do you need to set
"percent of A" analogue output in your current bought mass flow meters
?

you can set in that flow meter, if you need , we will ask
technician to make a small video to teach you how to set.
A/ “Density” is spelled incorrectly
as “Desnity” in the “Medium 1 & Medium 2 Density“ menu .
thanks for your advice, we have
correct that.
B/ When selecting “Display Setting”

hi , your operation is not correct.
will guide you if can be used in the future.
